Tour Plan

1. Pickup from Your Hotel in Marsa Alam

  • After breakfast at your hotel in Marsa Alam, you will be picked up by a private, air-conditioned vehicle for a comfortable drive to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will meet your professional tour guide and begin your full-day exploration of Luxor.

2. West Bank Tour – Ancient Royal Tombs and Temples

  • Start your journey on the West Bank of Luxor with a visit to the famous Valley of the Kings. Here, you will explore three royal tombs dating back to the 18th, 19th, and 20th Dynasties, carved deep into the desert mountains and beautifully decorated to guide the pharaohs in the afterlife.

3. Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahari

  • Continue to the impressive Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of ancient Egypt’s most remarkable monuments. Built on three terraced levels connected by ramps, the temple illustrates key moments from her reign, including her divine birth and the famous trading expedition to the Land of Punt.

4. Colossi of Memnon Stop

  • On your way across the West Bank, stop to admire the massive Colossi of Memnon, the twin statues of King Amenhotep III. Your guide will share the fascinating legend that connects these statues to the Greek hero Memnon.

5. Lunch Break and Nile River Crossing

  • After enjoying your lunch, you will cross the Nile River to reach the East Bank of Luxor and continue your sightseeing tour.

6. Karnak Temple Complex and the Opet Festival Route

  • Begin your East Bank visit at the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious complex ever built. Dedicated to the Theban triad—Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu—the temple was known in ancient times as Ipet-Isut, meaning “the most sacred of places.” This site was central to the ancient Opet Festival celebrations.

7. Avenue of Sphinxes Walk

  • Walk along the historic Avenue of Sphinxes, the ceremonial road that once connected Karnak Temple with Luxor Temple. Lined with sphinx statues featuring either human or ram heads, the avenue began during the New Kingdom and was completed in the 30th Dynasty under King Nectanebo I.

8. Visit to Luxor Temple

  • Conclude your East Bank tour at Luxor Temple, originally built by Amenhotep III and later completed by Ramses II. Inside the temple complex, you will see Abu Al-Hagag Mosque, constructed over the remains of an ancient church within the temple.

9. Return to Marsa Alam

  • After completing your Luxor tour, you will travel back comfortably to Marsa Alam, ending an unforgettable day filled with history and culture.
